Dr. Victor Lopez Jr. and his team from his Rugby Research and Injury Prevention Group (RRIPG) were valued help at the 2018 USA Rugby National Club Championships hosted at the Baker Athletics Complex, Columbia University, New York City. The event featured 32 teams from across the United States, competing in one of the newest Olympic sports for the right to put their name on the Emil Signes Cup. Both the men’s and women’s divisions equally share the spotlight with access to all portions of the event. Since 1985, the Club 7s National Championship is the preeminent domestic Rugby Sevens event in the United States.
